Research Calls

CEDR Research Call 2023 is open as of 17 November 2023 with 630.000 EUR for a research programme on Intelligent Access.

The CEDR Transnational Research Programme (TRP) operates through a series of annual transnational calls on topics that address the needs of European road authorities. The aim is to produce research results that can be implemented by CEDR members and contribute to a safe, sustainable and efficient road network across Europe.  It is funded by CEDR members on a voluntary basis. Participation is open to any legal entity, though all consortia must be led by a legal entity from a European country.

Call 2023 consists of a research programme on Intelligent Access.

This programme was prepared via extensive consultation among CEDR members about their research needs under this topic.

The overall aim is to investigate how Intelligent Access (further called IA) could help NRAs to optimize the use of infrastructure capacities and contribute to more environmentally sustainable road transport of freight.

The principal output of this Research Call is the identification of scenarios where IA could be applied to the management of cross-border road transport of goods. Opportunities and challenges, primarily for road authorities but also other stakeholders, should be explored. Guidelines for the implementation of IA at national level, for individual countries, are to be provided.

Call 2023 is launched and managed by the CEDR office.

All questions about the launch of Call 2023 should be directed to the Programme Manager: Naida Muirhead, CEDR, naida.muirhead@cedr.eu
